Update from Ms. R

This week the grade 5/6 class held a bake sale to raise money for African famine relief. Our school raised $669.00, an amount that will be matched by the Canadian government. So our school will be contributing $1, 338.00 to the cause.

Please remember that our school's Curriculum Night and Welcome Back BBQ will be held this week on Thursday, September 22. See you there!

The two grade 3/4 classes will be going on a field trip on Friday, September 23 to Silver City cinemas to see the new 3D movie "Dolphin Tales". This is a great opportunity to see a movie based on a true story about a the rehabilitation of a dolphin that has lost its tail fin. The permission form for this event was sent home with your child on Friday.

HOMEWORK

The homework this week is to write a story in the homework writing journal.In order to do his/her best work, each student has an editing checklist taped to the cover. Some ideas for stories are to write about the school bake sale or how to make an art journal. The stories are due next Friday (September 23).
